2017 SUMMER PROGRAM

NURSERY: Ages 18 months - 3 years old
Follows the Waldorf Early Childhood Curriculum throughout the year.
*Rising Kindergarteners will remain in Summer Nursery Program.

KINDERGARTEN: Ages 3 – rising 1st Grader
Our Waldorf-inspired Summer Camps include teacher-guided activities such as painting, coloring, sewing, cooking on Wednesday, puppet plays, storytelling, and lots of free play.

June Camps:
Weeks 1-2 – Native American Camp
Weeks 3-4 – Fairy Tales Camp

July Camps:  
Weeks 5-6 – Science & Magic Camp
Weeks 7-8 – Circus Camp

Register by March 1 to guarantee space for your child!

NEW THIS YEAR!
Circus Camp  
Week 1: June 12 – 16     Week 2: June 19 – 23   Week 3: June 26 – 30
9 am - 3 pm
Beloved former Movement teacher Ms. Jennifer Cripps returns to offer a special camp at AWS this summer: Circus Camp! Build gross-motor skills, balance ability, social skills, agility, teamwork skills, self-esteem, self-confidence and creativity. Students will engage in rolla bolla, stilts, slackline or tightwire activities, as well as tumbling, clowning, and juggling. Open to current AWS students in rising 2nd - 8th Grades as well as alumni. 
$250 per week

Russian Camp 
Week 1: June 5 – 9      Week 2: June 26 – 30

Taught by Russian teacher Ms. Rita Meikson. Students will play Russian games and activities, make crafts, and help to prepare a traditional Russian meal for lunch each day. 
$150 per week - register by May 1 and get $25 off!

Rhythm Camp: June 12 – 16

Taught by Extended Care teacher Ms. Ashley Dulaney and AWS parent John Scalici. Students will participate in drumming activities, body percussion and vocalization, and rhythmic storytelling, and will also create their own percussion instruments to take home. 
$150 per week - register by May 1 and get $25 off!

Theater Camp: Experience the art of storytelling!   July 3 – 7     
Taught by Music teacher Ms. Emily Hoppe. Students will enjoy building skills through improvisational theatre games. They will put together a show as a group, culminating in a performance entirely of their own creation!

Arts & Games Camp
Week 1: July 10 – 14     Week 2: July 17 – 21   Week 3: July 24 – 28
Taught by Movement teacher Ms. Brianna Payne. Students will play cooperative games and make art with readily available supplies like vegetable printing and found-material sculptures. $150 per week - register by May 1 and get $25 off!

“Let’s Prepare Dinner” Cooking Camp Based on our popular Extended Care Cooking Club, this single-day camp led by Mr. Brad Daly will guide students through preparation of a wholesome, nourishing meal for 4 people. (Students will provide their own groceries.)
Fridays, $40 per day
June 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7 and 14
