This is the image for the news article titled Get Movin' and Groovin' and help raise money for AWSWe kicked-off the 2017 Movin' & Groovin' Walkathon on Friday at Assembly, with each grade showing off various activities and games they had learned in Movement Class. Mr. Lucas's class even serenaded us with homemade kazoos. Now it's time to start racking up those miles!

Any activity that gets you moving counts towards a mile - jump-rope, hula hoop, biking, hiking, climbing and more. Even housework, such as sweeping and mopping counts. So, for example, mop the floors of your house for 15 minutes and you've run a mile! Participants find sponsors and work towards a goal of "running a marathon," or completing 26.2 miles of activity.

We'll all do the Final Mile together at the school on April 28. Afterward, any participant who has raised $200 in pledges gets to throw a pie in a teacher's face!

Check out our Movin' & Groovin' page for incentives, activity ideas, and to download registration forms. You'll also find a link to pay registration fees and submit pledges via PayPal. If you register and raise $200 in pledges by March 24, your registration fee will be waived.

** Please note: t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we will NOT be re-ordering shirts this year. So if your child wants a shirt, please register as soon as possible. **
