Openings at AWS

Becoming a Waldorf teacher requires training in the Waldorf curriculum. All of our full-time faculty members are either Waldorf-trained, in training, or working alongside a team member who has Waldorf training. For more information on teacher training, go to or join us for a Tuesday morning tour at 9am. 

AWS is always looking for substitute teachers for Preschool and all Grades 1-8. Substitute pay is $12/hr. Please come for a Tuesday Tour (9am) to begin the process of applying. Observing classes on your own time will be required. 

AWS is seeking a 1st grade teacher for 2014-15.  This is a class that will become combined over two years.  In Waldorf schools, teachers typically loop up with their class, teaching the next highest grade each year.  This class will have first grade students in 2014-15 but will gain new first grade students in 2015-16 to create a larger class that will then travel together through 8th grade.  Candidates must be willing to attend 5 weeks of summer training and to contribute significantly to the cost of this training which includes tuition, airfare, room, and board. Student loans are possible for tuition.  Candidates with teaching experience are preferred as are candidates with a Waldorf background.  This is a salaried position based on a $15/hour pay rate.  Medical/dental benefits are available with the employee paying a portion of the cost. This position closes on Thursday, March 6, 2014. 

AWS is seeking a Spanish teacher for Grades 1-8 for the 2014-15 school year.  Candidates with a native Spanish accent are preferred. Former classroom experience is also preferred.  This position will work closely with an established foreign language teacher who teaches Russian and heads the foreign language department. Pay is $15/hour.
