Get off the couch, get movin’, and earn money for Alabama Waldorf School! Part marathon, part walk-a-thon, Alabama Waldorf School’s annual Movin’ and Groovin’ Fundraiser promotes healthy physical fitness habits, and helps us to raise $20,000 for the school’s operational budget. Participants use the pledge card to collect pledges from sponsors while they “move and groove” a 26.2 mile marathon over the course of 3 months.
Participants walk, run, jump rope, hop, skip, unicycle — even raking leaves counts towards the 26-mile goal!
The pledge goal for participants is $200 (e.g. 8 sponsors at $1 per mile = $208). Flat-rate pledges also welcome (e.g. $25 for one completed marathon). Raise $200 in pledges by 3/24 and receive FREE registration, plus a chance to throw a pie in a teacher’s face. You can sponsor a student by mailing in a check to: AWS, 5901 Crestwood Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35212, or donate a flat pledge amount online through Paypal.
Raise $200 in pledges by 3/24 and get your registration fee waived! Registrations received after 3/24 will not be waived regardless of how much in pledges is raised.
Join us for the Final Mile Event at the school on Friday, April 28 at 10 am.
Refreshments will be provided by Church Street Coffee and Books, and participants will receive their medals at the event. Enrolled participants who raise $200 or more will get a chance to throw a pie in a teacher’s face!
Dates: 2/3/17 – 4/28/17
Cost: $35 per person; $60 per family
T-shirts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations received after 3/24 cannot be guaranteed a t-shirt.
• Raise $200 and get a chance to throw a pie in a teacher’s face on Final Mile Day.
• 100% Class Participation and your class gets a tie-dye party!
• If we meet our goal of $20,000, we’ll enjoy a school-wide Field Day, with sack races, in late May!
